Kids Design - Zidong Kindergarten

▶ Design statement: Vitality and order create a borderless educational space
▶ Design keywords: convergence, encirclement, sharing, interoperability
 
Based on the above concept, the building block is shaped by the symbolic meaning of "one life is two, two is three, and three is everything", and is created with the "pupil of the future" as the carrier, which means that children can see the world with their eyes and grow up like a tree.
 
The design focuses on the opening scale and free layout of the space, aiming to use the rich spatial scale to break through some of the traditional boundaries of school education and form a borderless education.

The main shape of the campus integrates modern architectural aesthetics with the elements of 'Purple East', breaking the traditional closed space system and using design techniques such as hierarchy, context and interoperability to effectively link the indoor and outdoor spaces of the campus, creating a shared play space and an open social space for the children.
 
The concept of borderless education is tightly integrated with Zidong Kindergarten.
 
Central courtyard:
 
The courtyard is a semi-outdoor space connected by a wrap-around corridor, where the boundaries between indoors and outdoors disappear.
 
The opening of the inner and outer rings breaks the fixed relationship between the spaces and connects the different attributes of the functional spaces, allowing interaction and dialogue between the indoor and outdoor areas.
All the marks and reflections of growth are inscribed in every corner of the space.
 
A diverse educational public space:
 
To the right of the entrance lobby, the large staircase from the ground floor to the first floor is cleverly designed as a reading area. using the height difference of the staircase, it is designed as a small children's scale reading mezzanine, with a theatre stage below.
 
The "borderless" learning space, the ubiquitous reading environment and the exploratory "play" based curriculum not only enrich the interaction between children while allowing teaching and learning to flourish in the most optimal atmosphere.
 
Greenwich Observatory:
 
"Let me climb the highest mountain in the Purple East to observe the largest astronomical telescope in Yilong, and then take a look at my mum and dad working hard on the distant hillside."
 
A secret base that can 'slide', 'climb' and 'dodge' with ropes:
 
The design team has selected actions that take place in nature to create a net-like plaything that can "jump" and "shake", a wooden pool under the stairs that can "flip" and "pick up" and "throw", and a small secret base with ropes for "sliding", "climbing" and "hiding".
